Dr. Ian Yamane, DC, IFMCP, CFMP is a functional medicine doctor who is passionate about helping his patients—whether in-person or online—live their best life. By addressing the full range of a patient’s physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental influences, Dr. Ian is able to deploy therapies, practices, and health hacks that extend beyond the surgeries and drugs that have historically defined American healthcare. He is a firm believer that chronic disease and gene expression can be put into remission, or even cured, when an individual patient’s root cause is addressed.

Dr. Ian has authored two books: “Time Is Tissue: A Whole System Approach To Reversing Cognitive Decline” and “The Diabetes Solution: Addressing The Root Cause.” These books help people gain a deeper understanding of what causes their disease process in regard to early stage dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and Type 2 diabetes respectively.

MY PERSONAL STORY

My passion for functional medicine started at a young age. My mother Kumi had a lifelong struggle with chronic disease and ultimately passed away prematurely when I was a young adult. I witnessed a feeling of hopelessness firsthand and a revolving diagnosis of pills for every ill that was simply ineffective. Since her death, I have dedicated my adult life to serving others and uncovering a path to joyful and lasting wellness for everyone.

This passion to uncover wellness inspired me to enter complimentary alternative care and presently functional medicine, which looks at your health completely, to help people live their best lives. That means teaching people how to uncover the root of their health problems—and prevention of problems—so that they can embrace lifelong wellness.

Why Functional Medicine Matters

  • The National Health Institute predicts that by 2020 157 million Americans will have a chronic disease, with 81 million having multiple conditions.

  • About half of all adults have a chronic condition, and approximately 8 percent of children ages 5 to 17 were reported by their parents to have limited activities due to at least one chronic disease or disability.

  • More than 75% of all health care costs are due to chronic conditions. Four of the five most expensive health conditions (based on total health care spending in a given year in the United States) are chronic conditions – heart disease, cancer, mental disorders, and pulmonary conditions.

Dr. Ian obtained certifications from Bridgeport University in the following areas: Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis, Mastering Functional Blood Chemistry, Mastering the Thyroid, Mastering Brain Chemistry, and Functional Endocrinology. He has obtained training from the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) in the Cardiometabolic, Hormone, Energy, Gastrointestinal, Detoxification, and Immune Advanced Practice Modules. He also obtained certifications through Southern California University of Health Sciences and the National University of Health Sciences. He received over 300 hours of training from Functional Medicine University and received a certification as a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP). This qualifies him to be Diplomate-eligible in nutrition through the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (ACBN). He has obtained advanced training in Reversing Cognitive Decline: Advanced Clinical Training in MCI and Alzheimer’s disease in collaboration with Dr. Dale Bredesen and AHNP Precision Health. Dr. Yamane is a qualified ReCODE practitioner to treat patients under Dr. Bredesen’s ReCODE program. Once he completed his post graduate training he submitted the required clinical guild based case study and has taken and passed the certification examination to qualify him to be a certified practitioner in functional medicine. Thus, the title designation of “IFMCP”.

He is married to his best friend, Deborah. They have 4 children and 2 grandchildren and love spending time together as a family. He is very involved in serving his church and community. The pursuit of optimal health has led his passion for creating a better life for his family and has led to many wonderful breakthroughs for his wellness practice in Las Vegas and virtually around the world.

For over 25 years, I have dedicated myself to my patients in Las Vegas; however, with the worsening spiral of chronic disease and healthcare costs, I have decided to move my practice online serving as a healthcare leader and patient advocate for those across the U.S. and beyond, as well as, challenging the big pharma and conventional medicine norms.

The scope and cost of chronic disease will continue to rise if we do not standup for ourselves, our loved ones and the future generations. Together, we can change your life for the better, and ultimately help change the course of healthcare.
